We Fund the South

Since 2017, the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium has been on a mission to fund the dreams of Black girls and women across the southern United States. We are passionate about reaching our goal to fundraise $100 million dollars over the next decade, and to date, we have already awarded $10.2 million to 221 Black women-led organizations and 504 girls across 13 southern states – Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Youth Ambassadors

We engage Youth Ambassadors as ‘program advocates’ to help the next group of Black girls seeking to win the #BGJ Challenge. Most importantly, Youth Ambassadors inform and shape future grant funding and inform content for the annual Southern Black Girls conference.

Wisdom Council

The Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium already knows you care for, and work for, Black girls and women. We need Wisdom Council members to inform and focus our efforts on regional/ statewide issues affecting Black girls and women.

Sage Circle

Monthly Session for network where topics are addressed to strengthen the SBGWC community. Most Sage circle sessions will be led by partners in the SBGWC work.

Joy Network

Mighty Network is a dynamic online community platform designed to connect, empower, and inspire Black girls and women across the South. Through this space, members can engage in meaningful conversations, share resources, collaborate on projects, and participate in virtual events that foster sisterhood and collective growth. The Mighty Network provides a safe, inclusive environment where voices are heard, ideas are celebrated, and new connections are made, all while advancing the mission of supporting and uplifting Black girls and women in our communities.
